The Governor of Nevada has put out an edict that essentially requires us to wear face coverings whenever we are within 6 feet of each other (family members excluded). The City of Boulder City requires us to operate within these boundaries or lose our permit to operate. This would make it impossible for the Timer Operator to "Safely assist the shooter through the stage" without wearing a mask. Unloading table officers could not properly inspect guns to insure that they were unloaded as well as the shooter unloading without wearing a mask. Not to mention that re-breathing part of your exhaled breath through a sweaty piece of cloth would significantly increase your body temperature and reduce your oxygen intake.
In 100 degree plus shooting temperatures and wearing face coverings the Board of Directors of the Eldorado Cowboys, has decided that it would make competing and using our safety rules under these conditions dangerous to the health of our participants.
Therefore we are temporarily suspending operations until the conditions change. We will keep you informed when we will be able to reopen.

Unless the King of Nevada decides to make different/stricter rules for August. It looks like we will be prepared for that shoot.
Bob Brown of BRPC has gone to bat for us an got a determination from the City of Boulder City that the Timing Operators and the Spotters do not have to wear masks as they need to be heard by the Shooter. SO! For Safety reasons they will not have to wear a mask or face covering. The Shooter is participating in an active sport so therefore is exempt from the requirement to wear a mask. This leaves us with the person Registering the Shooters and the unloading table officer. (Loading table can be exempted by having two 6' loading tables and social distancing as we did at Dam Site.) I am constructing (if still needed in August) 3 plexiglass barriers to go at the unloading tables so that the guns can be cleared without the unloading officer having to wear a mask. The same type of barrier will be at registration so that the shooters can check in without having to wear a mask and Miss Glitter will not have to wear a mask.
So plan on August being one of the best shoots of the year. AND BE THERE!
