Stage 1 Saturday, I am looking for feedback as sometimes my view can be narrow.
My 1st thought was it was retro(something we used to do, but found something better for today)
Eldorado has a reputation of close and fast. This stage did not come close, and should be either abandoned or radically changed if in the State shoot.
It had five difficult elements, and I believe no more than two should be in any stage: 1. Rifle targets were far. 2. Vertical staging of longuns. 3. Six shotgun targets. 4. Quite a bit of walking. 5. Vertical restaging of longuns.
Stats; Avg time total misses
stg 1 43.94 10
stg 2 53.60 11
The remaining four stages totaled 20 misses. your mileage may vary

This was all corrected for the Sunday match which was a good one. Thank you just Ace. Just to be clear and so members of the club who were not in attendance understand what George is talking about..... It was clearly announced at the shooters meeting that the stages for Saturday and possibly Sunday on Bays 1 and 2 were "TEST" stages of both function and new equipment never used. And that any input form any shooter present was welcome. That announcement was repeated several times after the stage was shot. Many participants openly suggested changes and voiced what they did and did not like. The stage was modified on Sunday to reflect this input. To be clear - Vertical staging is a component of Cowboy Action Shooting and will continue to remain as a tool to use in writing stages for the Eldorado Cowboys. Reloading Ammunition in the rifle is a fact of life when it comes to Cowboy guns. We see it done every day in the advent of misfires or just pain operator error. A stage containing a rifle reload is not unusual, all be it, in combination in this "TEST" stage was a bit excessive but necessary to acquire timing components for the upcoming Eldorado State shoot. No part of the stage was unsafe. The stages were reviewed and discussed at length by the stage writing committee prior to inclusion in the monthly shoot. Members wishing to have input in what is included in any stage are encouraged to contact any member of the stage writing committee. Ace of Hearts, Quickly Down Under, Mattie Clarice, or Runamuck Kate. Any of which will be more than happy to accept your input. This is now a club and will continue to be a club that solicits input from its members and listens to feedback from non-members. Everyone has a direct line for any suggestion/complaint. How unfortunate that this had to brought out in a public forum. Rather than using the suggested method at the shoot on Saturday. ACE

Yes, it is true that Eldorado Cowboys is know for its up close and fast stages and should remain so. As we are all getting older and find it difficult to move as fast as others, I know we need movement but not to any degree that tires us out. cried and moaned about the stages and it was corrected for the shoot yesterday.
I do have a suggestion on the reloading of our rifles, reload after the rifle is empty because some rifles cannot hold more than 10 rounds at one time and I think it is a disadvantage to others.
There is a reason that people go to Bordertown, Eldorado and Idaho.. big, close and fast
I want to thank the new board for all their hard work they have done since January, it is greatly appreciated. Dam Site was a success and so will Eldorado State championship 2019

Eldorado Folks -
I so very seldom come out here to read anything.
From a different prospective, I was quite surprised to read what is posted above, so let see if I have this straight in my mind.
The stages for 2019 SASS Eldorado State Cowboy Match have not been posted for public reading like they have been over the past few years. I somehow accepted that because there is a 'New Sheriff in Town' and not everything stays as it was.
What I seem to be reading here is that a stage or more (??) from this years 2019 SASS Eldorado State Cowboy Match may been shot by some of the locals over the weekend from stages that have not been posted for everyone do read? Does this also mean that perhaps some (or all) of the locals have had access to some (or again all) of the stages for this years 2019 SASS Eldorado State Cowboy Match while many other have not? If any of my comments, questions or concerns are correct, just how fair is that to the customer base of yours who have not been offered those same opportunities as some of the Eldorado Cowboys have been. Remember your customers vote with their pocketbooks concerning matches. There are many to travel to.
If I am correct here, this smacks me as being so very poor.
If incorrect, I am sure I will be corrected shortly.

If incorrect, I am sure I will be corrected shortly. You are incorrect. At our monthly shoot this month..... One bay had a set of NEW target stands that needed to be tested under live fire primarily for splatter concerns. The stands passed with flying colors. Another bay had a target arrangement that was under consideration and needed to be tested for time involved in shooting the arrangement. This did not pass muster and the arrangement was altered to bring the shooting time down into compliance. At no time was any stage that is going to be in the Main Match of Eldorado "practiced" by local shooters. There are a total of 5 people who have read the stages and approved them for use. Those shooters are - Ace of Hearts, Lady Glitter, Quickly Downunder, Mattie Clarice, and Runamuck Kate. These member comprise the stage writing committee and the club Secretary who has the job of getting the shooters book published. We will not be posting the stages online as until next week the stages were not finalized. ACE

JJ, I am a local shooter and I have no idea what is going to be in the 2019 State Championship, nor do any of the other local shooters beyond the stage writing committee. If all shooters received a copy of the shooters book it doesn't mean much until you see the actual stage as set up. I'm feel certain there won't be anything too complicated that can't be figured out on the spot. Come on out and shoot with us.
