This email was sent to the Board of the Eldorado Cowboys om Feb. 04, 2018 @ 3:15PM
I have grave concerns about safety regarding Stage 6 as written for Dam Site. I have expressed this verbally to Brian (Boxherder) on Feb, 03, 2013.
Shooting firearms with anything loose hanging off your body is not safe in this type of event. Too much can go wrong very quickly. I have had problems in the past with fringe on my shirt and even with a watch chain that was exposed. Shooting with a plastic chain attached to both your wrists is not what I consider "Old time silly stuff". Please reconsider the stage as written.
If the stage still requires a participant to keep any attachment in place while shooting, then I consider the stage unsafe, in my opinion, and will not shoot it as such. This type of disqualification would distroy the fun of shooting the rest the 9 stages.
Therefore, if the stage is not amended by April 01, 2018 to remove this situation, I will request that mine and Miss Glitters application be withdrawn and our money refunded.

Thank you for your concerns regarding stage 6 of Dam Site 2018. The Board of the Eldorado Cowboys is ALWAYS appreciative of open discussion and constructive input. The Board of the Eldorado Cowboys would never ask that any shooter participate in any activity that they feel is unsafe.
That being said: You have not seen the prop. You have not seen the application of the prop. Nor did you make request to any member of the Board of the Eldorado Cowboys to examine the prop for a valid and honest critique. The stage was written and prop designed with both fun and safety in mind.
A respected TG and RO instructor has an amazing amount of power by their words and postings to affect others and while I disagree with your assessment - I can understand your concerns.
We will take your input under consideration and examine our options to maintain the flavor of the stage while reducing or eliminating the items of concern.
But any decision to make changes, modifications or adaptations remains the sole discretion of the Board of the Eldorado Cowboys. We cannot promise that changes will be made to your satisfaction or these changes (if any) will be posted prior to your deadline.

There are many things in this world that I have not seen that I know are inherently dangerous.

STAGE 6 of Dam Site 2018 has been revised and the cuff and chain prop has been removed from the stage. The current revision is being reviewed for approval by the Board and will be updated on the website asap.
The Board of the Eldorado Cowboys deeply values the safety and comfort of our members and is always happy to take any input under advisement. While we continue to believe stage 6 was safe; the mere perception that the stage may be unsafe is unacceptable and requires us to make changes to ensure all shooters are comfortable with our choices. The Eldorado Cowboys place great effort into our events; including an ongoing commitment to well thought out and safe stages. Thank you for your continued support and input to Eldorado Cowboy events.
